About

As a recent college graduate, I made the easy decision to put off making money right away in order to spend my bank account on traveling. I traveled to three different continents in three months and learned one very important fact about myself–I love food. From macarons in France to groundnut soup  in Ghana to raw octopus in Korea, I was genuinely fascinated with whatever the locals dished out. Through my travels to Europe, Africa, and Asia, meals were a central experience for not only meeting natives and bonding with friends but also for experiencing the history and culture of a place–in just one succulent bite…or a glass or two of wine.

Returning back to the States as a newbie to the “real world” working life, I by no means have the financial backing or job leniency to jet set around the world when I feel like spicing up my life with an exotic flavor or cooking style. Although I cannot jump on a train, plane, or automobile and physically travel to another country, there is no reason that my taste buds should suffer and be doomed to a life of easy-mac (the college go-to).

For these reasons, I am embarking on a world adventure–right here in Washington, DC. When I feel like going somewhere–I am going to go. Through researching culinary history, visiting specialty restaurants, interviewing expert chefs, and trying international recipes, I plan on seeing the world at an extremely affordable yet delectable price.
